How to attract the right kind of motivated tertiary students to work at your events
It’s action time, and all hands need to be on deck for the event that you are running. Regardless of whether you are recruiting your own staff and using our Rosterfy system, or utilising our pool of over 20,000 motivated academy staff nationally, you need to work out what the best type of motivated staff that you require.
How do you do that? Simple, just follow our five steps to recruitment success!
- What kind of people reflect your brand?
There are a lot of motivated candidates out there, but are they right for your brand? Perhaps you need candidates who are fit enough to be able to run the last 100 meters of a race with participants, or to have completed a child check, or food safety certification? Make it clear as part of the description.
- What is the event about?
The number one reason that people get involved in events and activations is for the dynamic nature of the events. Is this a way to be involved in the largest festival in the southern hemisphere? Tell them that.
- What is the best perk of the event?
If your event involves being security at the front barrier of a concert, why not tell potential staff that they get to look after concert attendees from the front, whilst being less than 5 meters from the headline act of the show? This kind of excitement allows the candidate to get excited and tell their friends (potentially encouraging them to also sign up).
Using our workforcers? Consider adding these:
- What skill sets are required, or will be provided?
If the workforcer needs to have a safe with children check, or a forklift licence, our database allows us to search by these terms. These are things that you can add as part of the registration form. If you have some skills, like being proficient in multitasking or an Instagram whizz, or to be involved with dancing in the silent disco; encourage this in your brief so that workforcers are aware and can apply according to their experience.
- What are the learning outcomes?
Our motivated workforcers are eager to learn about the events industry, and many of them would like a taster of many aspects of the event itself. By describing the skills that your event will provide, you help our staff to verbalise their skill set for future jobs, and get better-rounded experience.
Good luck on your event. Reach out if you’d like to chat more about how was can help with staff or your technology needs.
